Academic Advising
-
As a TOCC student, it is your responsibility to take an active role in the development of your educational and career goals and make sure you are taking the appropriate courses to achieve your goals. To assist you in this endeavor, we have a Student Support Specialist to assist students with important decision-making opportunities. Before registering for classes and throughout each semester, new students should meet with a Student Support Specialist. For further information or to make an appointment, call (520) 383-8401.
-
A counselor is available to help students decide educational goals and to prepare educational plans to meet those goals. The Counselor is also available to assist students in self-awareness, development, and achievement of academic, career and personal goals. A Counselor can help students develop effective time-management and study skills, and help explain the curriculum offerings.
-

Prior to registering, the following students must be advised by a Student Support Specialist or Counselor.

  • New students completing a degree or certificate; or
  • Any student currently enrolled in high school; or
  • Any student under the age of 16; or
  • Any student registering for the first-time in a reading, writing or mathematics course; or

All students are urged to use the College Catalog and Schedule of Classes, selecting courses or developing an educational plan. These publications are available at the Academic Advising Center.
