Associate of Applied Science Degree in Office and Administrative
Professions, for Direct Employment (AAS-OAP) |
|
|
The Associate of Applied Science in Office and Administrative
Professions (the AAS-OAP) degree prepares students for direct
employment in the office and administrative professions.
Specifically, the degree provides training in Microsoft Office
programs and other skills necessary for entry-level administrative
support staff. TOCC offers the Administrative Assistant
concentration for the AAS-OAP degree. Students seeking to complete
the AAS-OAP with a concentration in Computer Applications Specialist
or Legal Secretary should refer to the TOCC website for updated
information.
Students pursuing an AAS-OAP degree should meet with their TOCC
advisors every semester. Students may also want to meet with
potential employers for advice on skills preferred in specific local
offices and agencies.
Here are important points about the Associate of Applied Science
Degree in Office and Administrative Professions.
- Complete Pre-Program Requirements before beginning an
AAS-OAP.
- New classes may meet program requirements. Check the TOCC
website for updates.
- Note: In order to meet Associate of Applied Science program
requirements, a grade of C (2.0) or higher is required for each
class.
- The AAS-OAP is not a transfer degree. Students seeking to
transfer to a university or four-year college should complete
the AGEC-A
or AGEC-B certificate or a
transfer degree.
- Notes on scheduling (in parentheses in the checklist tables)
show when courses are offered.
- Students may receive credit by examination or demonstration
for OAP courses. Contact an OAP instructor for additional
information.
- Students should meet with their advisors at least once every
semester.
