Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC) Certificates for Transfer

The AGEC-A, AGEC-B, and AGEC-S are lower division general education programs regulated across the state. Here are important points about the AGEC Certificates for Transfer.
  • Completion of an Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC) Certificate for Transfer will guarantee admission to any of the three Arizona public universities (University of Arizona, Arizona State University, or Northern University of Arizona).
  • Students who are seeking to enter a specific undergraduate department or major need to contact their university of choice for updated advising on department-level transfer requirements.
  • Note: In order to meet AGEC program requirements, a grade of C (2.0) or higher is required for each class.
  • Complete Pre-Program Requirements before beginning an AGEC Certificate for Transfer.
  • New classes developed by TOCC may meet General Education (AGEC) Requirements. Check the TOCC website for updates.
  • The General Studies Associates of Applied Science (AGS-AAS) requirements differ from requirements for AGEC and associate degree transfer programs.
  • There are three options: AGEC-A, AGEC-B, and AGEC-S.
  • Notes on scheduling (in parentheses in the checklist tables) show when courses are offered.
