TOCC supports the aspirations of students seeking to enter the
workforce directly after their community college studies as well as
those seeking to pursue bachelor’s and graduate degrees. The
previous pages covered certificates and degrees for transfer; the
following pages cover degrees and certificates for direct employment
(AAS & CRT credentials).
Tohono O’odham Community College currently offers seven certificates
and degrees that prepare students for direct employment.
At TOCC, students may apply classes meeting the Himdag history and
language requirements to meet AAS degree and certificate General
Education requirements. Specifically, HIS 122, THO 101, and/or THO
106 may be applied to the AAS Humanities requirement. HIS 122 will
also fulfill the AAS (CG) Special requirements. For more
information, see the tables on the General Education Requirements
for AAS Degrees and Certificates earlier in this chapter, or see the
specific AAS or CRT program checklists that follow.
TOCC’s General Studies degree is an Associate of Applied Science
degree (the AAS-AGS), which is not designed to transfer. The only
way an AAS-AGS may transfer is if the student also completes an AGEC-A,
AGEC-B, or AGEC-S certificate.
The Program Checklists on the following pages provide students the
best overall preparation for transfer and employment. However, if a
student has a particular career in mind, or a particular
undergraduate major, then the checklists should be adapted to meet
the student’s specific goals.
Here are the non-transfer programs that TOCC offers:
Programs Under Development The College is continuously developing new certificates and
